Policies & FAQ

Attendance

Q: How many meetings can I miss?

A: You must attend 80% of the weekly meetings. If you have any conflicts, notify the CSE Outreach Chair (Andrew Jeter) immediately.

Outreach Points

Q: Do MAE/ECE lessons count?

A: Yes, they count towards your 5 total events. However, 2 of the 5 must be specific CSE 198 lessons.

Technical Elective Credit

Q: Do I need to submit a Technical Report?

A: Only students seeking a form of CSE/ECE Technical Elective Credit or Experiential Learning Credit need to submit a Technical Report. Otherwise, you’ll simply complete the final presentation for your end of quarter ‘report’.

  1. For Seventh College students, taking this course one time will fulfill your 2-credit “High Impact GE” requirement.
  2. For Sixth College students, you will need to take this course twice to fulfill your 4-credit “Experiential Learning” requirement, and complete a Technical Report as part of your Sixth College petition. Please contact the CSE Outreach Chair (Andrew Jeter) for more information.

Late Work

Q: Can I submit reflections late?

A: Reflections are accepted on a rolling basis, but we recommend submitting them within a week of the lesson while it’s fresh. All work must be in by Week 10.

Q: Can I take the content quiz late?

A: No. The content quiz deadline (1 day prior) is strict because it affects ride planning. Please contact the CSE Outreach Chair (Andrew Jeter) if you have any extenuating circumstances.

Communication

Q: Where should I ask questions?

A: Use Discord. It is the fastest way to reach staff and other students. Email is reserved for private matters.
